Assimilation of the Western model – strategic contribution to the building and strengthening of the Republic of Moldova state

Assimilation of the Western model – strategic contribution to the building and strengthening of the Republic of Moldova state

Author(s): Aurelian Lavric / Language(s): English Issue: 13/2019

The problem of the building and consolidation of the Republic of Moldova state is closely related to the models that government and society adopt, assimilate and implement in order to achieve the desired results. It is a problem of mentality and approaching. Building the wealth of the nation and strengthening the power and prestige of the state on the international arena are directly dependent on the assimilation and implementation of the successful formulas of the rich and powerful states. As an example for the Republic of Moldova, EU Member States can serve. It is an important advantage for Moldovan nation the proximity to EU community. Using the comparative advantage, identifying and raising awareness of the factors that can lead to the well-being and their use – here are some of strategic objectives for the Moldovan government, regardless of its political affiliation – the name of the party – and of the ideological coloratura. The Western path of economic consolidation and building of an open, competitive society must be a major goal, because following this path represents a strategic contribution to the building and strengthening of the state of the Republic of Moldova. The fact that the EU is open to help Moldova on this way is an invaluable benefit. Such examples as China or “East-Asian Tigers” – states like Singapore and others, which implemented advanced Western approaches – represent a clear argument for Moldova to develop its economy in an innovative and competitive way, in order to consolidate the society and the state.

Internal fight for power, external forces for development-analyzing Moldova’s case

Internal fight for power, external forces for development-analyzing Moldova’s case

Author(s): Laura Baciu / Language(s): English Issue: 13/2019

This is a theoretical article and aims to analyze in a brief manner the development situation of Republic of Moldova, a country that seeks to create the proper setting for economic growth, political agreement, respect of the human and civil rights, advancements in the relations with neighbours and the European Union. The research is a qualitative one, based on the existing statistics and tries to explain the challenges of this country since it’s internal and external politics are depending on the major players from the east(like Russia, it’s most powerful neighbour, Ukraine, The Caucasian countries etc.) as well as on the major player of the west(like EU or United States of America). Not being fully equipped for dealing with the negative effects of social and economic crisis, Moldova relies on European programmes that can reduce an asymmetric development caused by a political system of win-loss situation, an economic system of struggle for enterprises, a soft power not entirely established and a civil society that can be easily manipulated. The result of this research is that while the internal context is a continuous fight for power, there are external forces that want to develop this nation. One future aspect that is interesting to look up to is how can Republic of Moldova to use the know-how from the outside in order to increase the know-how from the inside.

Author(s): Emil Kalchev / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 1/2018

Tax evasion is a serious problem for every country. It is believed that by lowering tax rates this problem can be overcome. Does this idea unambiguously support the economic theory? Or is tax evasion a phenomenon that is rooted in a much wider range of money? This article will look at the baseline economic discussion on this issue, and more thoroughly outline the “classic” quantitative model of tax evasion. It makes it clear that evasion of taxes is not directly dependent on the size of tax rates. Consequently, the public discussion based exclusively on this factor is one-sided and does not affect this phenomenon in full, which is a prerequisite for it to remain barren.

Дизайнът като стратегия в управлението на търговската марка: Практики при IKEA

Author(s): Dimitar Trendafilov / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 1/2018

The expand of the coverage of brands from mere marketing tools to intangible assets of higher value and strategic significance for companies inevitably has leaded both to development and some complications in their protection as objects of intellectual property protection. Currently, from management perspective, it is hard to say which approach is more important in terms of gaining competitive advantages: name registration, particular geographical indications registration, know-how defense or design/s registration. This article scrutinizes a particular example in this train of thoughts – a practice of IKEA, that is design-driven both ‘philosophically’ and on the corporate and production level. The challenge before the Swedish giant is even bigger since it strives for creating comfort, consumer experience and desire for next purchase without losing its traditions and initial business formula. For the purpose of the analysis, an expert research has been conducted, whose focus has been put on the number and type of registrations that we could find by searching in the data bases of World and European intellectual property organizations, as well as in some local bases – Bulgaria, Sweden and USA.
