Le nosos comme nirvanisation quotidienne vs la médiocrité de la santé chez Cioran
In Cioran’s philosophical paradigm, the very center of the most profound experiences is represented by the body: the body is the space where the individual fights all his ontological battles, so it functions like a matrix that incorporates all the vital potentialities, becoming a tool that the individual uses in order to be the Heideggerian Dasein. Therefore, all Cioranian human conditions are easily explained by physiological terms. In this case, a redefinition of the health and illness is definitely required in order to clarify one of Cioran’s favorite antinomy: the mediocrity of health and the “nirvanization” offered by illness. As we can infer, the illness is privileged, because it gives full access to the most revealing experiences. The illness imposes itself as the perfect catalyst for the ontological becoming: it changes the consistence of human life and it forces the individual to embrace knowledge. A whole philosophical system gravitates around notions like the conscience of flesh, the lyricism of illness, the organic stupidity, the history of organs and histology, the individual as an ill animal. All these recurring concepts contribute to the portrait of the Cioranian sufferer, amplifying Cioran’s image of an organic thinker and philosopher.
