This paper aims to investigate the dual role of visual and verbal discourse, of ambiguity and polysemy, which are omnipresent in the Romanian landscape of Mircea Eliade’s fantasy novel ”Miss Christina”. This essay intents to prove that the chosen narrative text summarizes different means of execution-expression, inside a piece of writing that is capable to explore the temporal determined imaginary universe, the texts being subject to a chronosyntax, while the image to a toposyntax. Specific analysis tools are used (such as literary, artistic, musical and hermeneutial analysis) to emphasize the shift from a verbal register to a visual one, asymptotically structured, but also to discover the ekphrasis phemomenon that is related to the image captured in its ephemeral state. The expected result is to reassemble the narrative of Eliade's work, trying to isolate the passing from the literary form of narration to the artistic one. The novelty of this investigation consists in comparing and contrasting these two types of discourses, their relationship with the language of art, from an inter- and transdisciplinary perspective, by promoting a multidimensional analysis model of approach to literature.

This paper aims to investigate the dual role of visual and verbal discourse in the hospitable space of Romanian novels, inside a piece of writing that is capable to explore the spatial and temporal determined imaginary universe. This approach seeks to demonstrate that the narrative text summarizes different means of execution-expression, the ekphrastic description proving the efficiency of the aesthetic through a return to beauty, which is a transparent quality that gives this form of art variety and complexity among the other art forms. Specific analysis tools are used (such as literary, artistic and hermeneutial analysis), aimed to disclose the shift from a verbal register to a visual one, asymptotically structured, but also to recreate the ekphrasis phemomenon that is related to the image captured in its ephemeral state. The expected result is to reassemble the narrative of the Romanian universe in the novel by Kathryn Wagner, Dancing for Degas, who, like Tracy Chevalier in Girl with a Pearl Earring or Zoé Valdés in The huntress of stars, confines the transition of the literary form of the narrative to the artistic one. The melting of the two related forms of art, literature and painting, imply a comparative examination of the two types of narratives, their relationship with the language of art, from an inter- and transdisciplinary perspective, to help redefining a multidimensional pattern of analysis to literature approach.

Today, new technologies keep extending the borders of the world we perceive with our sense organs giving us a chance to look behind the veil and study the phenomena of the nanoworld and megaworld that we cannot see with the naked eye. Every step the humanity takes further into these new worlds enlarges our understanding of reality and is inevitably reflected in the language creating, as D. Crystal (2007) put it, new wordworlds. The research focuses on the peculiarities of perception of new phenomena in the domains of nanotechnology and space research and the reflection of this cognition process in the language. Special attention is devoted to the principles and tendencies in new technical terms coining and how the familiar reality influences the conception of the constituents of these two worlds. Thus, some technical terms are a result of associative thinking when the brain searches for similarities between the new phenomena and the elements of the well-known reality sometimes forming new or following the already established patterns. As the principles of terminological network analysis are applied to shed light on the organization of knowledge within the domains, the paper also discusses the peculiarities of reflection of systemic relations in the structure of technical terms when the adjacent technical terms are used as terminological elements and definitions. Some productive semantic relations that are represented in the structure of a certain number of multi-component terms that consist of two or more elements (AKO – “a kind of” semantic relation being the most productive) are considered.

The text studies some linguistic theories that have indirectly reflected “Arrival” movie in 2016. Through the prism of semantic primitives, the theory of linguistic relativity and the linguistic picture of the world in the film is presented the idea of the power of language that changes fate and builds reality. The author faces the following questions: Can the language we use change our world and the world of the people around us? Is language a gift, a tool, or a weapon? Which one of these three meanings proposed by Hollywood would we choose to apply in life?

The mechanisms of myth creation has already been the object of the scientific researches, though the complex nature of this sociocultural phenomenon is not yet uncovered. The role of the language and translation in creation of myth can be observed in the diversity of the thesaurus produced by the society: proverbs, sayings, quotes, songs, jokes, classical literature, etc. The author believes that the thesaurus about the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 was one of the most significant layers of the cultural code of the epoch of HOMO SOVIETICUS. The article analyses the process of polishing the verbal text of the song (the original and translated versions), which have become true symbols of this historical event due to the precise selection of the key units with the power to appeal and influence. The war assumed a role of the catalist in the complex process of transforming the multinational community into the unified, Soviet nation. Myth has undergone a substantial development from interpretation of the surrounding world and culture through personification to historically determined variety of public consciousness.
