The burial customs of most ancient European cultures are the concrete expression of a convivialized behavior of the living towards the deceased members of their community. One can agree with A. Häusler: the conventions, rules and norms that followed were closely connected with the economic and social archaeological conditions of the time and space concerned. They refer both to the position of men, women and children in the community of which they belonged.
