The house, par excellence a place of foundation and habitation, is the topos in which the construction act circumscribes cultural practices, knowledge, techniques and traditional art, being the product of a treasure transmitted from generation to generation. Taking into account the few data and the studies with reference to the dwelling in the Lower Prut meadow, we note the works signed by Z. Moiseenko, M. Marunevich, M. Livshyts, E. Bazgu et al. Therefore, in order to explore the collective memory, to document the ethnographic relicts that are still in the precincts of the villages, it was considered necessary to carry out field research in the summer of 2018 and 2019. The purpose of this article is to publish new data related to the traditional raw materials, the knowledge and building techniques of the house, analyzing at the same time the cultural and social contexts within which they were born and manifested. Using the data obtained by applying the method of interview, questionnaire, photo capture, historiography consultation, we describe and analyze the steps of the house building, reconstructing as accurately as possible this technical process and social interaction. In the researched villages, dwellings built of clay, clay balls, in belts, of wood rods, dry clay in special molds, limestone cubes, and prefabricated materials were identified. Attention is also paid to the archaic techniques of laying the thatched roof and the architectural decorative solutions.
