Odczyty w Castel Gandolfo
The first volume of a 3-part series of works by Professor Krzysztof Maurin - an outstanding physicist, founder of the Polish school of mathematical physics, and at the same time a philosopher and thinker - contains 3 articles previously published in scientific journals: Mathematics as language and art; Logos (language) and its cosmic role; Tradition and progress in science, philosophy and religion (divided into 3 parts in this issue). The following volumes contain texts written by the author for books he did not manage to publish, selected and prepared for printing by the Professor's students and friends. Krzysztof Maurin's monographic lectures, conducted from the early 1960s to the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries, gradually changed their character. Initially, they concerned various departments of mathematics, performing an educational function for his students and young colleagues. Later, they covered a much wider subject, including theology and philosophy, practiced by the Author in his own original style. The related "Open Systems" seminar is held to this day. Krzysztof Maurin left behind numerous texts of his speeches (complete or only in the form of more or less scattered notes) - including those that were never delivered. The selection of these materials is published, as intended by the author, in 3 volumes.
