STUDY ON THE EFFICIENCY OF USING A WEB APPLICATION IN LEARNING THE DANCE TECHNIQUE, BY THE STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF BUCHAREST

Author(s): Costinel Mihaiu,Monica Gulap / Language(s): English / Issue: 03/2016

Keywords: dance sport; physical education; students; web application;

Dance Sport is part of the educational offer of Physical Education and Sports Department of the University of Bucharest, being one of the most popular sport disciplines among the students of this institution. The number of physical education lessons provided in the curricula of the non profile faculties is 1/a week for the first two years of study, as optional subjects. The approach of sports dance in physical education lessons involves the establishment of the themes which exclusively aim the initiation into this sport, with the compliance of all the teaching principles and the methodological requirements. The dance lesson with students lasts 100 minutes, 25 minutes represent the first part of "general warming" with "harmonious physical development", which includes the study of classical dance, while 60 minutes are allocated to the sports dance themes. Regarding the training methods used to acquire the specific content of dance in physical education class, we mention that the verbal methods are doubled by the intuitive and practical methods, the teacher manifesting the autonomy in choosing and combining them. Our practical experience of over 15 years in the field has demonstrated that acquiring the technical content specific to dance, in terms of exercising within a lesson per week, is done quite slow, reality that has led us to implement in our educational approach the benefits of the development of modern technology.

PREGĂTIREA STRUCTURILOR DE APĂRARE CIBERNETICĂ PENTRU SPRIJINUL OPERAȚIEI MILITARE

Author(s): Ştefan-Antonio DAN-ȘUTEU / Language(s): Romanian / Issue: 02/2017

Keywords: Scyber defense; strategy; military operations; cyber attack; training

The analysis of current conflicts reveals the ascendant trend of cyber threats against critical infrastructure and political, economic and military environments, with emphasis on cyber-attacks targeting the national defense entities command and control systems, communication and information networks. The accelerated evolution and the virulence of cyber-attacks are considered by state-actors, alliances and international organizations through specific policies that promotes cyber security and cyber defense capacity building. To counter the sophisticated cyber operations perpetrated by some state and non-actors, it is necessary to approach and prioritize the “cyber warriors” shortcomings, taking into account that, within the current budgetary restraints, the majority of armed forces face difficulties with recruiting, training, development, and retaining of a performant cyber work force.

Developing Teaching and Learning Resources for Food Safety Disciplines – A Case Study

Author(s): Dana Radu / Language(s): English / Issue: 02/2019

Keywords: Teaching and Learning Resources; Food Safety; e-Learning; case study;

The main purpose of this study was to explore teaching and learning resources (TLR) specific to food safety & consumer protection disciplines, in order to help students, lifelong learning food professionals and consumers to achieve their learning goals. The potential of different types of TLR related to working conditions as well as to students' needs and academic tradition of food science and engineering disciplines was assessed. Personalized learning approach, essential for mature learners, pointed out to the importance of appropriate design and use of e-learning resources. A case study was carried out on the design of a website module on food safety, developed as part of an online tool for adult education. The content template was replicated and adapted, by the national teams from all 27 EU member states, under a European grant. The e-learning tool content was organized into four sections and designed intending to "bring the outside world into the learning space". This practical and user-friendly approach included real life situations along the food trajectory "from farm to fork" for science-based risk management. The final section, containing fact sheets for each food group, synthesizes main physical, chemical and biological hazards. There are useful ready to use handouts. Food safety tips, glossary, quizzes and external links complete the profile of each section, providing the module with assessment characteristics. Developing eTLR specific to food safety disciplines also provides feedback on the relevance of the research endeavour and proved to be useful to develop fresh thinking on food safety research topics.

CURRENT CONSIDERATIONS ABOUT INSURGENCY AND COUNTERINSURGENCY IN AFGHANISTAN

Author(s): Traian Maghercă,Ion Bălăceanu / Language(s): English / Issue: 04/2019

Keywords: insurgent groups; insurgency; counterinsurgency; taliban; international coalition; Afghanistan;

Currently, the insurgency as a fact is most present in the country that seems to live in an endless conflict - Afghanistan. Insurgent groups are very active in this area of the world, and nothing seems to stop them. As a natural reaction to this phenomenon, the Afghan authorities are responding with actions that fall more or less in the counterinsurgency category. At the level of the international military coalition that acts in support of the Afghan security forces, were mentioned the main causes that contribute to the perpetuation of this conflict. From the latest analysis, Western specialists say the main cause of the failure of counterinsurgency action is the support given to insurgent groups by Afghanistan”s neighbors by providing those safe areas within their territory where members of the organizations are sheltering the actions taken by the Afghan security forces

THE MULTIDOMAIN APPROACH WITHIN LAND FORCES’ OPERATIONS

Author(s): Paul Tudorache / Language(s): English / Issue: 01/2021

Keywords: multidomain approach; JIIM; MDO; combat power; combat functions;

The frequency of operational changes, which are often unpredictable, and the difficulty of addressing the challenges posed by them represent sufficient motivational factors to trigger the Land Forces’ adaptation to the requirements of the operational environments. For these reasons, the article aims to highlight the foundation of a new operational approach able to ensure for Land Forces’ military structures the augmentation of their combat power and also the possibility to transcend the traditional approach of the military operation to a multidomain one, much more suitable to the context of contemporary and future operational environments. Also, highlighting the attributes necessary for commanders, staff and subordinate structures, as well as analyzing the operational implications for Land Forces’ military structures are the primary objectives which are circumscribed to the purpose of this research.

Ignatius – Customs and Traditions with Millennial Roots, Specific to the Winter Solstice. Fertility Rituals, Cosmogonic and Initiation, on the Day of Ignat

Ignatul – obiceiuri și tradiții cu rădăcini milenare, specifice solstițiului de iarnă. Ritualuri de fertilitate, cosmogonice și de inițiere, în ziua de Ignat

Author(s): Cecilia Monica Dușan / Language(s): Romanian / Issue: 11/2020

Keywords: winter solstice; sacrifice; pig alms; fertility rituals; cosmogonic and initiation; The Story of Ignat;

Ignat's Day celebrated on December 20 in traditional Romanian villages, the day before the winter solstice, in the past was dedicated to pigs slaughtering.The slaughter of the Ignatian pig initially had a purely ritual, ceremonial function, a function that has been forgotten over the millennia, of which, however, many specific elements are still preserved today.The ritual of slaughtering the pig of Ignat is specific to the periods of renewal of time, periods in which the deities, who embody the old year, die, in order to be reborn. At ancient peoples, the change of year and seasons required human sacrifices, sacrifices that over the time were replaced by the sacrifice of animals, trees or plants.Also, the slaughter of the pig during the winter solstice, when the sun loses its power, in the past had the role of increasing the low powers of the sun at that time of its minimum presence on the sky.Slaughtering the pig at dawn and roasting it with wheat straw, in the form of a fire whose flame rises high into the sky, certifies this sacrifice on the day of Ignat, preceding the winter solstice, as an offering brought in the past by our ancestors, the one who sustained life on the earth, made the seeds grow and warmed them (photo 1).Many of the bloody sacrifices has its origins in the early days of the world, being an imitation of the divine act that led to the creation of the universe, with all that exists in it. Usually, in order to create the Cosmos, the supreme god kills a giant, a sea monster etc., which he carves. Thus, we can notice an analogy with the slaughter, cutting and chopping of the pig at Ignat, as a reminiscence of these ancient ancestral beliefs (photo 2, 3).And the fertility of the soil and sowings was obtained at the beginning of the world, when a god gave himself prey to the flames, so that from his burned body to grow plants, fruit trees, etc.As can be seen, the slaughter of the Ignatian pig seems to be reminiscent of ancient sacrificial rituals brought to the supreme god for periodic updating of cosmogony, the Sun god to increase its light and heat, or the Mother Earth for fertilizing fields and harvesting rich crops in the next agricultural year.In addition to slaughtering, the day of Ignat is specific to a legend that circulates in Transylvania, with the name of The Story of Ignat. The story was to be told on the eve of Ignat's day, or at the latest on Ignat's day, by the oldest member of the family. The story tells of a struggle between Good and Evil, between God and Satan, thus recalling the moment of Chaos before Creation. But the story includes a series of ten riddles, which children must learn, which highlights the fact that the story includes two myths: a cosmogonic one, specific to the periods of renewal of time, and an initiation myth, specific to the onset of puberty, the whole story and its narration being part of an ancient ritual.From the above, we can conclude that the slaughter of pigs near the winter solstice is not accidental, being a tradition with ancient roots in the history and culture of the Romanian people, once specific to other peoples in the Balkans, and The Story of Ignat, a remnant of oral teachings that novices received in initiation rituals.In other words, the slaughter of the pig before Christmas, still remains one of the acts of tradition specific to the Romanian village, eagerly and enthusiastically awaited by the whole community, already having a special value for tourism with gastronomic values, but also for the numerous fairs that take place in cities at the end of the year

MORAL STORIES AND ITS ROLE IN CHILDREN’ EDUCATION

MORAL STORIES AND ITS ROLE IN CHILDREN’ EDUCATION

Author(s): Monica Turturean / Language(s): English / Issue: 16/2021

Keywords: storytelling; violence; drugs; questionnaire; moral story;

We live in a society where children are exposed to many temptations, many dangers such as drugs, bullying, alcohol, cigarettes, cyber bullying, violence and it is very difficult to find a method to help them understand that all these can destroy them permanently and, to the same extent, understand that they must not follow this path. Moral stories can have this role of awareness, whether they are told by parents or educators, but it is extremely important to find out if parents use them in their relationships with children. This study is a part of a bigger study (Monica Turturean, 2016, 2018) which started in 2016 and its’ purpose is discovering the role of the moral story for different people with different needs in order to use this results in educational activity but not only.

CULTURAL IDENTITY IN THE ERA OF GLOBALISATION

Author(s): Monica Alina Toma / Language(s): English / Issue: 1/2017

Keywords: globalisation; identity; culture; space; city;

Globalisation has generated a lot of controversy, many theorists expressing divergent views concerning its impact on the different cultures across the globe. Since leading scholars have emphasized “deterritorialisation” as one of the most important phenomena in our contemporary society, this research is trying to establish how cultural identity is perceived in the new geography of the world. The article intends to show that even if globalisation tends to create a homogenous culture of capitalism, the world’s cultural diversity will be preserved by people’s stressing the uniqueness of their own traditions wherever they are.
