Summary/Abstract: This paper analyzes the importance of communication in NGOs as well as their promotion in society. The first part of the paper explains how communication can help NGOs in their efforts. The second part of the paper describes the most important communication tools and channels which NGOs could use in order to solve the community problems, to keep in touch with all target audiences and improve their image and credibility. The last part of the paper provides an overview on the image of the nongovernmental sector in Romania.
