Summary/Abstract: This paper is devoted to investigate the enterprises duration on the market. The research sample consisted of a cohort of companies from the Mazowieckie voivodeship, which started their economic activity in 2007 (observed for 10 years). Non-parametric and parametric methods of survival analysis (including hazard models) were applied. Attention was also paid to the problem of censored data. The results obtained in both approaches are convergent. It was noted that the greatest risk of termination of business occurs between 2 and 5 years of the company existence. The factors such as the headquarters, ownership form and the business section have a significant impact on the duration of enterprises.
