Summary/Abstract: The development of competences and their recognition is the foundation of the self-creation of modern society and human personality. Members of the public have the opportunity to influence change. Shaping attitudes and behaviors requires acceptance, treating the individual and society in accordance with the expectations. The basic influence on this situation is adaptation, adaptation, rationality and experiencing what is happening around us and in us. The aim of the publication is to highlight important issues concerning competences, precisely key competences, social competences and positive prosperity of people. This issue is very important in the aspect of human development, operation and functioning. The individual's activity influences the improvement in the roles defined by culture and society. Measures to achieve more or less important and time-bound goals bring measurable benefits. Difficulties in the development of people, struggles with their own inability, weakness especially in the individual's mental sphere, in his various activities are dictated by the fragility of the structure of public space, private enterprise, weakness of the family institution, aging society, loneliness, which translates into a small resource and the power of human competence, requiring reinforcement.
