Children’s Nursery in Senj

Summary/Abstract: Pre-school institutions, besides their social character, have their educational aspect regarding teaching; introducing the children to basic knowledge of all scientific areas; in an adaptable way they prepare them for school education and further learning. Nurseries which work within elementary schools, (this was very popular at one period), they know very well how to apply their experiences in daily practice, especially in management. They together plan and programme as well as take risks and responsibilities for all successes and eventual failures in their work. In the same way, the Senj nursery was related to the elementary school in an organisational and employment sense, in one period. Later, the nursery started to work separately but the need to work together never stopped. This paper describes the work and success of the Senj nursery from its establishment up to date.
