Summary/Abstract: Each language has many different jargons. The words that make up the jargon may be incomprehensible or they may be used in a completely different sense. The role of youth in creating jargon is undeniable. A youth language is a linguistic structure in which certain groups or segments of society reveal their identity depending on the age group. In general, this can be called "youth jargon". This article examines the Russian youth jargon as a specific subsystem of the national language, which has a kind of expressiveness, increased emotionality and productive imagery. The nature of youth jargon has been clarified, the main sources of the emergence and replenishment of jargon vocabulary have been described. The linguistic phenomenon of jargon is revealed on the basis of an analysis of various techniques of a language game.
