Summary/Abstract: In 2011, the city of Ivanovo, fought for the right to become the European Youth Capital of 2014. In this struggle it left behind several European cities, including Barcelona, and only in the final yielded to the Greek Thessaloniki. The article analyzes the prospects of participation of the provincial Russian city in the project "European Youth Capital”
