Patient’s Consent and Doctor’s Obligation to Inform the Patient

Summary/Abstract: The article studies a topical and not much discussed in the legal theory issue about the legal significance of patient’s consent to undergo treatment, doctor’s obligation to inform the patient of the forthcoming treatment and his civil responsibility in case of not fulfilling the said obligation. The legal regulation under Bulgarian legislation is analysed, as well as the basic ideas regarding the above issue in the European legal literature and jurisdiction.
