Summary/Abstract: The paper shows the phenomenon of the radical right in Spain in the context of the Vox party. It analyses the social and political conditions of the emergence of the populist radical right in the Iberian Peninsula and the ideological background of the Vox party. The article refers to its discursive strategy that is based on nationalism and nativism. It is also focused on the most important dimensions and fac tors of support for the party and on the social profile of its followers. The methodological analysis is based on the integration of historical and system method and refers to Cas Mudde’s concept of populist radical right. The main purpose of the paper is to approximate some crucial aspects of the ideology and political project presented by the Vox party. The main conclusion of the article is that the radical right in Spain, after the long-term lack of progress, has managed to occupy an important place in the Spanish politics. The Vox phraseology is accepted by some conservative voters opposed to the tradicional establishment. The paper analyses the components of the Vox strategy which emphesize the impact of the multicultural society on the threat for the Spanish identity and traditional values.
