THE TERMINOLOGY OF LEGISLATION UNDER THE DIGITALISATION CONTEXT

Summary/Abstract: Purpose of Article consists of the definition of a set of word combinations derived from the word «digit» from the legal documents of the database of the «Legislation of Ukraine». We focus on its analysis, amount and frequency of usage. The methodology is based on the methods of scientific analysis, a synthesis that has helped to reveal and investigate necessary word combinations. The statistical method gave the opportunity to provide the amount characteristic revealed phrases; terminological – to give its notion. The scientific novelty is in research relevancy of digitalization (Ukrainian alternative) and the digitalization (as borrowing) and its word combination derivatives. Conclusions. In the database of the Ukrainian legislation is found 97 documents with the names which have combinations based on the word «digit» dated 1970–2019. Contextual analysis of the documents has revealed 109-word combinations which gradually replenish terminology of the law. The decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine «On approval of the Concept of development of the digital economy and society of Ukraine for 2018–2020 and approval of the plan of measures for its implementation» was a significant breakthrough in the terminological filling of the legislative base with derivatives of the word «digit». It was reaffirmed that according to the rating the most commonly used word combinations «electronic digital signature». In the context of the digitalization of society, the terminology of legislation has been replenished with new phrases for our country over the last two years. However, in legal documents, only a few of them have their own definition, which in the future may give rise to ambiguity, non-uniformity of terminology and service of their foreign-language counterparts. It is suggested instead of the term «digitalization» (borrowing) to use «digitalization» (Ukrainian alternative).
