STYLISTIC TRANSFORMATION OF OLD CHURCH SLAVONIC LEXIS IN THE WORKS OF DEMOCRATIC SATIRE

Summary/Abstract: On the material of the works of the second half of the 17th century democratic satire the unexplored question of the functioning of Slavonicisms (words derived from Church Slavonic) as a new stylistic category, the means of parodying and satirical exposure, is considered. As a result they exceed the limits of the traditional marking of “the high” style which finally brings to their dechristianization and neutralization.
