Summary/Abstract: Christmas stories appeared in Russian literature under the influence of the prose of Andersen and Dickens. They occur in the writing of Dostoevsky, Leskov, Chekhov, Kuprin. Andreev, Gorky and others. Russian writers modified this kind of small writing (with elements of parody and satire) and granted it with distinct Russian colouring.
