Equality of educational opportunities

Summary/Abstract: The article examines some of the basic problems connected with the ideas of equality of educational possibilities, different changes standing in most historical conditions so as their rethinking now. There are presented concrete institutional forms of educational life so as their key characteristics and indications. The creating of equal chances in education is ambitious programme, developed on theoretical so as on practical level by politicians, and that is real criteria for democratsm of society. The most important problem submiting in the paper is connected with serious challenges of the idea of educational equality in the practice. The issues – comprehensive school, different forms of financial support, improving of tests, are a part by institutional and politic measures for democratizing of educational system. There is presented the evolution of equality of educational possibilities in Bulgarian conditions of socialism.
