The master and the disciples

Summary/Abstract: The article examines the didactical aspect of the Early Christian epistolography during Late Antiquity. The accent is put on the St. Jerome’s approach toward raise and education of a little girl, devoted to God, as he explicit it in his letter 107 to the mother – his correspondent Leta. The problems he solves are such as: the role of the letter writing, the role of the Christian parenting, the correct manner for a child to behave, to dress and to eat; the kind of friends to be chosen etc.
