Summary/Abstract: Aggression, which has many psychological, biological and socio-cultural resources, is one of the most important problems of our time. Since aggression is a multidimensional problem, its solution should be handled in a multidimensional way. One of the most important approaches to prevent aggression is religion. Religion develops the sense of meaning, conscience, compassion, patience and empathy, and provides the ability to control emotions and behaviors through reward and punishment mechanisms. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between religiosity and aggression among university students. The sample of the study consisted of 507 young people studying in Faculty of Theology at Trabzon University and History, Sociology, Turkish Language and Literature departments at Karadeniz Technical University. Buss-Perry Aggression Scale, Internal Religious Motivation Scale and Arrow-Religious Attitude Scale were used as data collection tools. As a result of the analysis of the data collected in the research, the following findings were obtained. The level of aggression of women is lower than that of men. A positive correlation was found between smoking frequency and aggression. Negative relationships were found between intrinsic religious motivation and religious attitude and aggression. The research revealed the importance of developing religiosity in preventing aggression.
