The Methodological Level in the Scientific Consciousness

Summary/Abstract: In discussing some shortcomings of the constructivist and relativist programs a culture-anthropological approach to scientific consciousness is proposed. Two aspects of analysis are differentiated: (a) the intersubjective cognitive structures of the scientific communities, and (b) the intentionality of scientific consciousness. In the framework being outlined the relevant notion of „methodological level” is defined, There are some proposals concerning the empirical investigation of the problematics.
