Summary/Abstract: Lingering and humanity are two essential features of the Romanian nation. People that do not linger for anyone and anything have either become extremely focused on their own self and have detached from everything or they are hard-hearted and incapable of feeling anything. The Romanian nation is, through his spiritual constitution, open to God and to the dialogue with Him. Father Dumitru Stăniloae represented and continues to represent, for the Romanian theology and not only, a strong reference point, a researcher and discoverer of the meaning of existence in general and of human existence in particular, but, in the same time, he is a true creator of meaning. The two concepts of lingering and humanity can be found at the heart of his works on the features of the Romanian Orthodox people as our most valuable characteristics that lead us to a strong connection with God.
