Summary/Abstract: Social entrepreneurship enables the application of the inventiveness, imminent in business ventures, in finding innovative solutions to such crucial social challenges as starvation, poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, environment protection, etc. This article explores the social entrepreneurship as a contemporary managerial instrument, employed for achieving sustainable development, by denoting some of its advantages and disadvantages, on the fundament of which questions about its future development are being raised. Furthermore, the article presents certain good practices with the purpose to demonstrate the importance of the link between theory and practice.
