Summary/Abstract: No matter of the geographical are or the historical time, the religion had a big influence on the history. In this case, the base of the religious life in the Comănești town will be described by using documents from the archive of Saint Spiridon, Lăloaia and Leorda churches. If the information linked to religion, trought he XV–XVIII centuries is alike the rest of the country, in the next few centuries a change is obvious in the parishes and in the life of the people who lived in those.Basically the religious aspects are offered by the correspondence between the priests of the parishes and different institutions: Ministerul Cultelor, Patriarhia Română (after 1925), Prefectura Bacău, Primăria Comănești, Episcopia Romanului, Protoieria Trotuș, some of the schools from Comănești town and the representatives of the constabulary, the police or the economical institutions from this area (Centrul Carbonifer). The end of the XIX century and the beginning of the XX century had meant modernization for the Romanian territory; the reign of King Carol I (1866–1914) bought with it the development of the industry and the agriculture. The documents highlight the fact that the priests hadn’t had role just in this modernization but they’ve also been the spiritual guides of the communities. The end of the First World War had as a characteristic the economical, spiritual and cultural rebuild of the Romanian society, although some of the documents describe the First World War and its impact on Comănești’s town community. The history of the community from Trotuș’s shore can be completed by studying the religious documents from the archive and the events which had place here gained an important place in the national and global history, too.
