Summary/Abstract: In the second half of January 1206, Tsar Ioniță Asan organized a short military campaign in the territories of the Latin Empire of Constantinople. In only two weeks the troops sent by the ruler of Tarnovo crossed the territories of the Latin Empire of Constantinople and reached Roussion. On January 31st 1206, near the citadel, they defeated a Latin body of army led by the constable Thierry of Tenremonde. Almost 92% of the Latin warriors were killed or taken prisoners.
