Summary/Abstract: The author analyzes Psalm 50: 20/51: 19 by highlighting the biblical symbolism of the term “calf”. Several important places in the Old and the New Testaments are analyzed, where the symbol of the „calf“ is used. The essay shows that many of these are found in the Holy Liturgy and underlines the Christological importance of the symbol.
