Summary/Abstract: The author analyzes the image of Lech Kaczyński, Jarosław Kaczyński, the party Law and Justice (PiS), and also to some degree the image of the Polish state and society in autumn 2005 in the German mass media e.g. Die Zeit, tageszeitung, Neue Zuercher Zeitung, Neues Deutschland, Spiegel, Stern, FAZ, Die Welt, ARD, Deutsche Welle. Further about the understanding of democracy in Germany and in Poland, the activities of Gerhard Schröder, Angela Merkel and Erika Steinbach.
