Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to show how the newspaper entitled «Basarabia. Ziarul nouei vieți românești» drew in its editions from 1942 the image of the Bolshevik(s) in the context of an ongoing propaganda war between Romania and the USSR. The thesis of the article is therefore twofold: a) that «Basarabia. Ziarul nouei vieți românești» was a vector of defensive propaganda in the context of the info-war between Romania and the USSR and b) that anti-Semitism had an instrumental role in presenting the Bolsheviks. There is no clear demarcation between these two instances of the newspaper, each of them working hand in hand with the other. For instance, one of the recurring themes of the Antonescu regime’s propaganda was the so-called danger of judeo-bolshevism - this theme was heavily exploited through the pages of this journal. In order to prove the validity of the thesis, the article relies both on normative definitions of propaganda and on the analysis of the articles from «Basarabia. Ziarul nouei vieți românești». The theoretical framework encompasses the findings of Călin Hentea regarding the analysis of the propagandistic war effort of the Antonescu regime.
