Summary/Abstract: Providing high-quality healthcare services by the medical staff is becoming an important challenge, given that it is a key issue conditioning the survival of healthcare institutions on the competitive market. Also, there is a change in the expectations that the patients and their relatives have towards healthcare. In the times of consumer society, the patients expect a comparable level of services and a range of choice as they have while shopping or using other services. The increasing expectations towards service quality are further compounded by e.g. the mass media interest. The aim of the article is to discuss the issues related with the study of patients satisfaction and to present the results of such study carried out in Jan Paweł II Hospital in Bełchatów. The article is based on the latest subject literature and the analysis of the results of a questionnaire-based study.
