Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on a particular form of disability caused bywartime injuries. Based on several examples from literatureand art, the author analyzes the cultural forms of presenting individuals who suffered permanent health impairment through direct engagement in military operations. One of the criteria forthe selection of the analyzed cultural texts was their unconventionality in how they narrativized the war and its direct impacton the human body.
