Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to identify the requirements for suppliers in the field of the environment and energy management systems. Conducting analyzes based on the subject literature and published reports, indicated the emerging trends related to the implementation of systemic environmental management based on the requirements of ISO series 14000and energy management guidelines, which are based on the ISO series 50000 standard by the participants of supply chains. Particularly important assumptions of these standards are: definition and implementation of objectives (based on environmental aspects), implementation of programs to improve the impact on the environment. The increasing use of these tools results is the expectations of customers (especially multinationals that are Original Equipment Manufacturers) for implementing the concept of sustainable development by suppliers. For this reason the implementation of the environment and energy management systems seems to be an important criterion for the initial and periodic evaluation of suppliers.
