Summary/Abstract: The correlation between patient satisfaction levels and the quality of medical services is proven and widely described in the literature of the subject. Furthermore, a multidimensional medical institution assessment conducted by patients is an effective tool to ensure improvements in health care, boost strategic decision-making processes, reduce costs, meet patient expectations and prepare a strategy of efficient management and progress monitoring. The aim of the work was getting to know the assessment of the hospital’s admission room conducted by patients before and after its conversion into a commercial law company. The research was conducted in the period between 2008 and 2009 among patients from the hospital in Tomaszów Mazowiecki. The research involved 5,497 patients in total, including 2,702 persons before and 2,795 persons after the hospital’s conversion. Research into patient satisfaction was conducted by means of an anonymous survey questionnaire comprising 46 questions. The conducted analysis shows that in all domains the assessment of the admission room was appreciably better in the group of persons answering the survey questions after the hospital had been converted into a commercial law company as compared to answers of persons taking part in the research before the conversion.
