Summary/Abstract: Purpose of the article is to highlight the specifics of the manifestations of polystylistic, as one of the leading features of postmodern art, in the work of the prominent performer and composer John Zorn. Methodology. The research methodology involves the use of cultural and musicological approaches to distinguish the features of postmodernism in contemporary musical practice, namely, polystylistic. The scientific novelty of the study is an analysis of the musical heritage of John Zorn. In his work, he practically uses the principle of polystylistic, which allows combining in one work the signs of opposite directions. Conclusions. John Zorn is a composer whose music is a kind of stream that freely absorbs elements of "third layer" music, contemporary composing techniques and jazz principles for building improvisation. In his creative method, which is opened to innovation, plays the significant role in symbolism and the constant search for new horizons. John Zorn's polystylistic, which is his creative method, is not limited to a simple collision of contrasting elements but leads to their synthesis.
