Summary/Abstract: Lean management is an approach to running an organization that supports the concept of continuous improvement, a long-term approach to work that systematically seeks to achieve changes in processes in order to improve efficiency and quality.Lean management is a systemic method for the elimination of waste. It seeks to eliminate any waste of time, effort or money by identifying each step in a business process and then revising or cutting out steps that do not create value.Lean management is auniversal methodof business management,butit ismost suitablefor large manufacturing companies. Small businesses, due to their specificity, face many barriersin the implementation of lean. The purpose of this article is to show the usefulness and limitations of the application of lean management in the sector of small enterprises, based on a review of the economic literature.
