Summary/Abstract: Purpose of the article. To find out whether Marxism and avant-garde are symbiotic within concept «avantgarde museology». Methodology. Criticism of Karl Popper, analytic comparing. Scientific novelty. Concept «avantgarde museology» became relevant to science, while cleaning metaphysic layer. Now, it can be considered as basis of engineering theory of museum. This theory and concept «avant-garde museology» has common method – trial and error. Thus, «avant-garde museology» unites only avant-garde concepts of social and cultural essence of museum, without Marxist museologists. Avant-garde museology belongs to all concepts of engineering theory of museum, based on method trial and error. Conclusions. In this research shown, that avant-garde museology and Marxist museology are incompatible. Marxism is dogmatic, intolerant for another point of view. Avant-garde is open for pluralism and experimentation. Further investigation may be focusing on views of Soviet avant-garde museology because of more of it were implemented. Originality of these theories will manifest itself in compare with its Marxist antipode.
