STROKES TO THE BIOGRAPHY OF MARIA DONETS-TESSIER (ACCORDING TO ARCHIVAL MATERIALS)

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to highlight the controversial and unknown facts of the biography of M. Donets- Tessier on the basis of modern art criticism works, documents, and materials from the archival institutions of Ukraine. The methodology consists of applying the methods of source study, biographical, analytical-descriptive, chronological. These methods allow us to highlight the little-known and completely unknown pages of the biography of M. Donets- Tessier. The scientific novelty consists in covering the facts from the biography of M. Donets-Tessier on the basis of scientific research, as well as archival documents from her personal collection, which is kept in the Central State Archive-Museum of Ukrainian Literature and Art and materials of the Central State Historical Archive of Ukraine, Kyiv. The archival sources used are represented by the manuscripts of M. Donets-Tesseyr itself and official documents. Some facts from the biography of a famous singer to date have not been covered in the studies of musicologists and reference books.
