Summary/Abstract: Following the Copernican role of Vuk’s Srpski rječnik (Serbian Dictionary) in the domain of word formation in the period when the era of enlightenment intertwined with the new direction in Serbian prose, the paper pays special attention to Vuk’s tales on words and especially those that accompany proverbs and saying, where Vuk’s role of an excellent storyteller is very noticeable.
