Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to analyze the results of regional studies initiated by the author in the context of urban activities in different cities of Ukraine: Zaporozhye, Slavyansk, Berdichev, Poltava. Methodology. In carrying out urban activities and researches, the author used such methods as workshop and facilitation for group work. Scientific novelty. For the first time, experiments tested the most conventional techniques, based on building a community dialogue that looks like combinations of the formats mentioned above of interaction within communities. Own author's experiments formulated the potential for development of individual peculiarities of the industrial environment. Conclusions. As a result of the research, an important issue was found – to involve citizens in urban transformations and a self-identification of people with the place of residence. These experimental studies indicated high relevance in the integration of industrial spaces into a modern city and willingness of communities to work on this topic. Community initiatives are a powerful incentive for the transformation and adaptation of historic industrial buildings to new features that meet the needs of the present.
