Turizm Eğitimi Alanına Yönelik Bibliyometrik Bir Çalışma
A Bibliometric Study on Tourism Education

Summary/Abstract: In this study, it is aimed to analyze the postgraduate thesis written on tourism education on Council of Higher Education’s National Thesis Center’s database to produce tourism education’s development (YÖK). For this reason, it was scanned by the keyword “tourism education” on Council of Higher Education’s National Thesis Center’s in Turkey and found 191 theses but only 139 of them was about tourism education. The thesis was bibliometrically analyzed by various parameters. The parameters were the name of university and institute, the academic level, keywords, years of the thesis, the number of thesis, research method and thesis subject. The result of analyze has been the most determined that the most master degree, Gazi University, Social Studies Institute, between the years 2015-2019, 101-150 pages, quantitative method, the keyword of tourism education. In general, it has been determined that theses on tourism education have increased considerably after the year 2000, theses on tourism education focus more on undergraduate level, and theses on graduate tourism education are not written. In this context the thesis about tourism education in Turkey was evaluated generally and a perspective suggested for the new future researches.
