Summary/Abstract: During the 20-th century Eastern Europe experienced many severe trials, but especially severe they were after the Second World War. Then Eastern Europe was divided into countries some of which were victors and some - vanquished. In the region victors were Yugoslavia, Poland, Czechoslovakia, but Bulgaria, Rumania and Hungary were defeated. In the same time the Cold war began and transformed all the countries in the region into one united Block created by the Soviet union. In the Eastern Block the different countries behaved in different way , especially in the numerous social and political conflicts - victors with more audacity, defeated - with more obedience. The differences remained also in the transition from state socialism of Soviet type to the parliamentary democracy and market economy after 1989. This transition indicated another defeat. And the countries from Central and South-East Europe once again were divided into victors and vanquished.
