Summary/Abstract: In the present context of the Universal Church, “the only Corpus Iuris Canonici” is becoming a concrete reality. The Church breathes with two lungs, one in the East and one in the West. The eastern canons supplement the western canons: they do so when a canon refers either to the Latin Church or a Church sui iuris and the when the context makes it clear that the case concerns relations with the Latin Church.
