The elements of folklore poetics in the modern Ukrainian prose

Summary/Abstract: In the present article the output of such authors as V. Szewchuk, V. Drozdo and V. Zemlak, making use of folklore traditions is being analyzed. Artistic means of expression characteristic of folklore intermingle in the works of these authors with the so-called folk culture of laughter. The contemporary Ukrainian prose continuing literary traditions endeavours to reach out for new forms of artistic utterance.
