The importance of the narrative element in the fantastic prose

Summary/Abstract: In this article, we tried to highlight the role played by the narrative element in the construction of the fantastic story. Moreover, all critics who wrote about the supernatural literature agreed on the importance of the narrative in the economy of its kind. The place occupied by the narrator concerning the characters and the story (although often the narrator and hero are just the same person in two functions on two totally different levels of narration time) certifies again, the "truth" and the authenticity of events put before the dazzled eyes of the reader. The imagination of the reader is to be totally overwhelmed by the story, and this phenomenon takes place most easily when the narrative voice of the text speaks in the first person singular. This is a psychological ploy, a game with the limits for fear that the fantastic offers its readers, based on the technique of open and rigorous process of narrative.
