Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the origin and structure of the archaic mythical world of the Balts and its influence on the formation of archaic world-view. The emphasis is on the image of the mythical world model symbolised by the World Tree – the Cosmic Pillar of the Universe. The vertical and horizontal parts of the World Tree are analysed by familiarising with which the people characterised by the mythical world-view learned to think in the abstract and learned to use dichotomous and trichotomous analyses of the entirety. Since the symbolic structure of the World Tree is universal, it is reflected in the cultural heritage of the nation (folk art, traditions, etc.) and remains in the modern management systems, models of social relations and other models.
