Summary/Abstract: The goal of this paper is to point out to appearances of sociological knowledge, pseudo-sociological knowledge and ignorance in the textbooks for secondary school and university. In the paper, we stress the importance of textbook literature in sociological science and we subject to critical analysis originality, language, concepts, factual basis, semantical messages, pedagogic- didactic component, and reception. Criteria are enumerated for distinguishing sociological and non-sociological knowledge. It is considered especially the phenomenon “each sociologist writes a textbook”, and, besides that, we indicate the authors who are not sociologists by their elementary education.
