Determinants of development of reverse mortgage on the polish market

Summary/Abstract: The development of reverse mortgage on the Polish market is conditioned by many factors, which in the literature of the subject are divided into demographic, economic and social. However, among them there are factors which affect the development of reverse mortgage is positive as well as factors that adversely affect the development of this product. In this paper the Author attempts to divide determinants of development of reverse mortgage into two groups: first – factors that inhibit the development of this product, second – factors which stimulate the development of reverse mortgage. Such a division of factors allowed to distinguish these determinants, which constitute a particularly important barrier in the creation of this product on the Polish market.
