Summary/Abstract: In this paper, the hermeneutical character of the narrative and mystical levels of interpretation in Origen’s Commentary on the Song of Songs is examined. Also, in the process of analysis, the Origen’s attitude towards ancient exegetical heritage is highlighted. In presenting the complexity of the literary structure of the Commentary, both explicitly expressed and implicitly present interpretative methods in the Alexandrian theologian’s writing are being considered.
