Summary/Abstract: Of all the strategic partnerships concluded in the post-Cold War era, the one between the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China has generated the greatest interest for researchers studying the geopolitical relations between Moscow and Beijing. Leaving behind the ideological misunderstandings between the two countries between 1953 and 1991, Russia and China have developed a strategic partnership since 1996, with important political, economic and military achievements for both countries. Considering that the two states have been challenging the US's dominant position in world politics for over a decade, strengthening the Russia-China partner relationship can lead to the formation of a power pole that strongly influences the current liberal order. We intend to present in this study some essential aspects of Russian-Chinese cooperation in the context of the strategic partnership and to elaborate some conclusions concerning the capacity of this partnership to draw the current liberal order.
