Summary/Abstract: The one of the reasons of such a huge number of political parties in Bosnia and Herzegovina is the division of society. Society is divided along ethnic grounds.“The electoral system in any modern state is part of the general political and constitutional system, it expresses the basic constitutional principles and the political form of a society.“ Certain parties often conclude alliances among themselves, the so-called coalitions in order to gain power, or to at least participate in government. Citizens are primarily familiar with the political parties, coalition members, and after that with the entire coalition. State power is constituted on the basis of the political parties' achievements in the entities which often leads to the merging of the program goals of the Coalition members. To lead to coarsening of the political scene, Bosnia and Herzegovina will need to come to the realization of certain factors. This primarily involves the harmonization of political strategies of parties like the program objectives, then defining the social, economic factors and the development of the electoral system in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
